Build your own winning morning routine

In my latest blog I talk about how a morning routine can help you start your day feeling more in control and provide a platform for you to perform at your best.

Plus why you don't need to get up at 4am and be into cold showers in order to establish your own.

This is an ongoing battle for most of us!

Having the ability to be fully focused on work when we need to be. Then able to switch off from that and able to be present and not distracted by work when we're relaxing or with loved ones.

There’s a Japanese term, ‘Kaizen’ which means ‘change for the better’ or ‘continuous improvement’.

Our health and performance isn’t something we complete. It’s an ongoing, ever-evolving process. And this definitely applies to being more present.

I've by no means cracked this, but some strategies I've found helpful include:

  • Journaling and reflecting on how present I've been.
  • Establishing set boundaries around work and when I'll switch off.
  • Removing temptation and distractions by not having work emails on my phone.
  • Putting my phone in another room when I really want to be present when either working or relaxing.

Protein with every meal!

Whether your goal is to lose weight, increase your energy levels, improve your performance, speed up your recovery or strengthen your immune system, consuming sufficient protein is essential.

It's one of the first changes I make when I start working with a new client.

Every time you eat, make sure there is a significant amount of protein in your meal.

This can come in the form of meat, fish, eggs, yoghurt, cheese, nuts, beans, pulses, whatever works for you.

As well as the benefits given above, you'll also find that eating more protein will help you feel more full between meals too.

This is nuts and well worth a listen!

Flying cars, underground sky scrapers, wifi routers that know if you’ve had your medication and all sorts of other mind blowing stuff.

Half of which is either already happening or just around the corner!

Check it out
