8 Ways To Boost Energy Levels & Still Bring Your A-Game On Days You’re Lacking Sleep Or Feeling Fatigued
It’s a horrible feeling when you wake up exhausted on a day you really need to show up and be at your best.
It might be that your kids have kept you up all night. You’re so nervous about the pitch you’re delivering that you couldn’t sleep. Or simply juggling work, family and day-to-day life is really taking its toll.
Unfortunately there will always be days like this – no matter how fit and healthy you are – and on these days it’s really important to lean on our other health and performance pillars for support.
There are 5 pillars I talk about as being central to how we look, feel and perform. They are diet, sleep, exercise, down-time and productivity. We need to have positive habits in place that address all of these areas to really be at our best.
One of the reasons they are ALL important is because when one pillar is compromised, we can draw strength and support from the others.
Here are 8 examples of how we can do just that in order to still show up and perform as we need to when sleep is compromised:
Get some fresh air
Fuel your body with nutritious foods
Make sure you’re hydrated
Get out for a
walk
Do some exercise
Grab a power nap
Meditate
Use breath-work
It essentially comes down to adopting the mindset of controlling the controllables.
You can't control the fact that you've woken up exhausted. Or that today is a day where you really need to perform. What you can control is how you respond to that.
Double down on these seemingly small and insignificant habits on days that you're struggling.
