Why it's okay to know what you should be doing and still not to be doing it

Hi ,

We have access to more information than ever.

It’s all there for us online. Endless programmes and articles on diet, training, sleep, productivity, mental wellbeing etc.

Everything we ever needed to know about how to be our healthiest and happiest.

Which can make it really frustrating when you still can’t make it work.

A new client mentioned this during our consultation call a few weeks ago. He said,

“It’s taken me a while to get in touch because the thing is I know what I should be doing”

It's okay to know what you should be doing and still not to be doing it.

If all people needed was information there’d be no need for coaches!

And that's because it's not the KNOWING that's the problem, it's the DOING.

There’s often a gap between knowledge and execution and that’s where people fall down.

So many people I speak to are sleep deprived, overworked, under-fuelled and stressed to hell.

It’s a lot to ask to be able to make reasoned decisions about what’s best to do, and then do that consistently. Especially
when you factor in work, children and general life stresses etc.

The great thing about my role as a coach is that I'm able to be objective.

I can see what people WANT to achieve, but also what they NEED and CAN actually do.

I'm there to assist in adapting the plan when needed. And to remind them to be patient and to feel good about what they can do.

No matter how much you know, it's completely understandable to still be having trouble putting it into practice.

Try bringing it back to one or two small things that YOU CAN DO, day in and day out.

And remember, regardless of how much you know, it’s absolutely fine to need a little help.

Have a great week, life is now!
